About Alert Stamping Alert was incorporated in 1962 and continues to be run by the second generation of its founding family members. The original product line consisted of OEM stampings and retractable reels for vacuum cleaner manufacturers located in Northern Ohio. Our first retractable cord reel was manufactured in 1966. Today Alert manufactures, assembles, tests, packs and warehouses at our Cleveland Bedford Heights location and our China facilities. Stamping and painting, is now done with a network of subcontractors allowing our capacity to grow while meeting current demand and keeping a tight rein on costs and expenses. Our philosophy of keeping low overhead and passing along the savings to our customers has been in place since our first day in business.
